Cannot install Rawhide from Live USB: "Not a live image"
Trying to install Rawhide from a Live USB created with UNetBootin returns an error: "Not a Live Image". I'm still wondering why this is, when Ubuntu installs fine from a Live USB.
Do I get it right, the installer is started in a running live environment, but is complaining that it has no live environment to install?
Have you compared the md5sums?
Rawhide is a development version, so may be there is a bug in the installer. If the md5sums are correct, I would wait until the next nightly build is released and try that.
These are two different nightly builds. One is 20110125 and the other is 20110126. Both of them have the same problem. It definitely has to be a bug in the installer.
Well, I checked the latest build and neither the md5sum or sha1sum match the sum used on the server. So I guess it is a corrupted build, and they need to consider fixing this bug.
Well, apparently it takes Red Hat Bugzilla admins longer to respond than GNOME Bugzilla admins. We'll just have to wait and see. In the mean time, I am downloading a newer ISO to check the md5sum and sha1sum on.
kenny_strawn@kenny-AOA110:~/Downloads$ checkisomd5 $(ls)
The media check is complete, the result is: PASS.
It is OK to use this media.
kenny_strawn@kenny-AOA110:~/Downloads$
Apparently it isn't corrrupted, so it has to be a bug with the installer. I will try to burn the ISO to a CD and see what happens.
