FC2/Virtual PC Networking acting flaky

I am currently running Fedora Core 2 on Microshaft's Virtual PC (running on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise).

Everything was running smoothly until about a week ago, when my file system became corrupt. BTW, I'm not using a virtual hdd file, i actually have the linux VPC linked to an actual hdd.

After using 'fsck', the filesystem was doing ok. A few days later, I started to have network connectivity issues. I could ping the other PCs on my LAN from linux, but I could not ping any servers on the internet. It was definitely not an issue with DNS, because I tried pinging actual IPs.

Since I'm somewhat a linux nubian, I decided that I would do a complete reinstall, just in case the fs was still messed up. During the reinstall, I also decided to not activate the linux firewall (in case that was the issue), since the machine is behind a router, and will only have a single port forwarded to the IP of the virtual linux box.

I currently have the DHCP server of my router (Linksys WRT54G) disabled, and am using static IPs on all of my PCs within my LAN. I also have the wireless features of my router disabled, since I don't have any wNICs.

I don't have any issues logging into my vLinux with ssh/putty from windows, and I can also login to my ftp server running on Windows from the linux command prompt. I just can't seem to get onto the Internet from linux anymore.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Regards,
Trinzion

Have you checked to make sure your default route is setup correctly?
$ netstat -rn
should show you the routing table. Make sure you have a route labled "default" or "0.0.0.0" and make sure it's going to the right gateway.
