ethernet card problems
Hi,
I have an INTEL PRO 100 VE network adapter (Dell dimension desktop). The distro of Linux I have is Mandrake and the version is 9.0. When I 'modprobe e100', this is what I get :
/lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/net/e100/e100.o.gz: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
modprobe:insmod /lib/modules/2.4.1916mdk/kernel/drivers/net/e100/e100.o.gz failed
modprobe: insmod e100 failed
I don't know if this helps but here is the relevant output from 'lspci -v':
02:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp.: Unknown device 1050 (rev 02)
Subsystem: Dell Computer Corporation: Unknown device 0155
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 20
Memory at fcfef000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
I/O ports at df40 [size=64]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2
I have even 'dmesg'ed. There was no entry corresponding to 'eth0'.
