Ethernet card problems

Hi!

I just installed Suse 8.1 on my laptop
it doesn't recognize automatically my 3Com Etherlink network card (3C575-TX)

at boot time, appears this message:
Setting up network interfaces
eth-pcmcia-0 hotplug

as root, typing "ifup eth-pcmcia-0" doesn't work

when I turn off, appears:
eth-pcmcia-0 ifdown: could not get valid interface name: -> skipped

Please if you know how to solve this probleme, message me!

Thanks in advance!

Any leads on this yet?

I'm having a similar problem with a 3com NIC in SuSE 8.2

It doesn't load on start up, but when I view it and the host name set up from YaST Control Center, it loads and works.

I just can't get it to stick and load from start up. Lemme know if you've got this figured out.
