I installed enterprise linux 5 in my PC. WHen I do ifconfig -a, eth0 is not listed. I manually created ifcfg-eth0(/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0), installed Realtec r8168 and added an entry to /etc/modprobe.conf. Still I am not able to see eth0 and not able to connect to Internet from Linux. It works fine from Windows. Whenever I try to start eth0, it says Unknown Device.

Please help me out.

4) rpm -ivh nvlan-rhel5-0.62-1.23.i686.rpm
rpm -ivh nvsata-rhel5-2.1-1.23.i686.rpm
5) cd NV_Linux_DRV_PKG_v1.23/RHEL5/source
6) created Makefile with the following contents
obj-m := forcedeth.o

But not able to execute "make" to install the driver. Am I missing anything? There is no change even I rebooted the PC.
