Looking for ALSA Drivers for RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 WS


I m looking ALSA Drivers for Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 WS. My name is KERNEL is /vmlinuz-2.6.9-648_EL.

Sounds like somebody created a custom kernel (the version number 6.6.9-648 does suggest this) and maybe forgot something with the alsa configuration section during "make menuconfig", rebuild the kernel.

Device Drivers--->Sound--->Sound card support---> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture

Or maybe not, without knowing which sound interface device you have it is impossible to tell if the device is supported or not with the 2.6.9 kernel source as supplied by Red Hat or kernel.org.

You can also get the latest alsa drivers from www.alsa-project.org . No need to recompile the entire kernel.
