DHCP on boot
I have just set up dhcpcd on my LFS system. I have configured it as it says and the files look like this:
/etc/sysconfig/network-devices/ifconfig.eth0:
ONBOOT=yes
DHCP_PROG=/sbin/dhcpcd
DHCP_STOP=-k
/etc/sysconfig/network-devices/ifup-eth0:
#!/bin/sh
source /etc/sysconfig/rc || exit
source $rc_functions || exit
source $network_devices/ifconfig.eth0 || exit
echo "Bringing up the eth0 interface..."
modprobe eth0
loadproc $DHCP_PROG $DHCP_START
/etc/sysconfig/network-devices/ifdown-eth0:
#!/bin/sh
source /etc/sysconfig/rc || exit
source $rc_functions || exit
source $network_devices/ifconfig.eth0 || exit
echo "Bringing down the eth0 interface..."
$DHCP_PROG $DHCP_STOP
evaluate_retval
But I have to run dhcpcd to get it to connect. How do I make it start on boot? I would have thought that the line ONBOOT=yes would have done this?
