Unhappy "device is unmanaged" on both NICs after updates

i run FC9 on a Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop, which originally worked fine with my Intel Centrino wireless and Ethernet. after an update a couple weeks ago the wireless suddenly failed, giving 'device is unmanaged' errors when i try to connect via the tray app. ifconfig'ing wlan0 down/up makes no difference. after the last update the same thing happened to the wired NIC, so i'm now stuck with no connection at all.

is there some noob way to get my connections back that i've just overlooked? if not, what to do?

L

How did you update it?

Which part of your distribution you updated? kernel? modules?
