Can anyone help with the following problem. I have demand dialing working on my home network. the first time I connect from a pc the modem on my RedHat box dials my ISP and connects, from the pc that initiated the connection I can browse the Web. The problem is when the link is disconnected and a connection to my ISP is re-established my pc's cannot resolve Host names on the Internet, I can ping those machines. Is this a bug in Ipchains or am I missing something in a conf file possibly.

I think u are using the Linux DNS.

See whenever u start a DNS daemon it will listen all the Interfaces. Here u are in LAN. In the LAN it is already listing. so their is no problem

But I dont know how to explain this problem.

In ur dialer demand script once u connected(ie after the ppp negotion is over) stop the named daemon adn start again

I think it may work . But still I am not sure
