Deleting Old DNS Entries in Vyatta

I have a bunch of old DNS entries in my configuration file that I would to remove and free up IP addresses. The command I am using is:

delete system static-host-mapping host-name <hostname>.domain.com inet <ip>

The hostame and ip have been removed from this post for security reasons.

The command executes fine but after i enter "commit" i receive this error.

[ system static-host-mapping host-name bam.onforce.com ]
IP address for the static mapping must be set

I am confused since I know the hostname and IP are already set in file.

Does anyone have any ideas to assist?

Can you open the configuration file as root with a text editor?

If so; just delete the line of the DNS entry or entries that you don't want.
