CISCO 2600 Series configuration (IP,DNS.SUbnet.Getway))


Hi friend,

I am new in CISCO I want to configure CISCO 2600 series Router. I found a lots of How to.. in net But im confusing to use.


My configuration is below........

Modem------Router (serial 0/0)> Router(eth 0/0)-----PC(eth 1)

And I want to let all of my user to go outside. But noe user can come from outside.

Cisco 2600 is a Cisco IOS device, not a linux device. check the standard documentation at cisco.com for details on how to use it.

we can't teach you IOS... we may be able to help with specifics, but we can't just teach you all of it from nothing...

for a start :

#show ip int brief -> to see all interfaces on your router, their ip and status

does your public IP static or dynamic?
does the given public IP you assign to the modem (your modem in bridge mode) or your modem act as a NAT router and your internal modem has private IP?
