Cannot connect to a Linux box

System is running fine.
I have one lan card (eth0) in it. and have made an alias eth0:0.
In eth0 I have the Live IP and in eth0:0 I have private IP
Problem is:
eth0:0 is running fine and I can access both interface from private IP but eth0 is not working properly I cannot connect to it from remote location. But when I am restarting the network service I can access it but it is just for a few min then again the connectivity is lost.

How can I solve this????????

Sounds like a network issue to me.

Please post "netstat -rn" before it is unreachable and a "netstat -rn"after it is unreachable.
