using Xmanager to connect to a Linux box

I have been using Xmanager to connect to my Linux box at work but all i have been able to do is open up an xterm. However, I had had an experience with Xmanager before where when I ran it it actually opened an X session on my Windows PC. how do i go about getting this entire X session rather than just an xterm?
