Cannot access Samba server from Windows

Hello, this is Digiplaya. I have a big problem. When I go into Windows XP and try to access my Samba servers (DHCPPC5 and DHCPPC8) it asks for a username and password right?

Well, I try to use this username/password combo, which I think is right, this is what I use to access DHCPPC5:

Username: digiplaya
Password: ******

But to no avail. Windows XP puts this in front of the username: //DRAGON5

So what should I do, and why doesn't it work?

unix accounts are usually created with "useradd" and samba accounts with "smbadduser"

It doesn't work in the terminal mode (CTRL-ALT-F1). Where do I have to type that in?

Make sure you are really logged in as root. or use the full path - try:
whereis useradd
whereis smbadduser

Actually, I'm using FTP now, but I have another question.

I can upload files to the FTP server on the server computer, however, I can only upload to home/mdanderson.

I cannot upload to other drives on the server from my Windows XP computer. Do I have to change a FTP server permissions setting, and how do I do that?

Digiplaya.
