blocking ssh for a user
Dear friends,
A user(eg:joy) must be able to login to the system locally.But when tried to access that system using ssh for this user(joy) ,the access should be denied. I am using red hat linux 4.
Please give a sulution for this.

Hi,
Take a look at the DenyUsers directive in /etc/ssh/sshd_config (if that is where red hat stores this file). man sshd_config for details.

Hello jitheshmurali,
You can use the DenyUsers directive in /etc/ssh/sshd_config to deny a particular user.
ie.. DenyUsers 'name1' 'name2' .....
If you use the 'AllowUsers' directive. then only the users you add here are allowed to login via ssh.
