After installing around 800 packages yesterday browsers can't connect
So I suck. Frustrated with linux. Trying to make ATI card work but that's not to be handled in this thread. Just trying to install *whatever the crap is missing to make ati card work*. So I select a bunch of packages via Synaptic, install, reboot.
NOW I have a problem that my web browsing ceased working. I had to have installed something that's trying to maybe resolve addresses but is fighting with something else. As stated in Highlander movies: "there can be only one". So I've probably got a few packages in there fighting over who gets to send me to the internet.
argh.
Question: what packages should the village idiot not install on linux so that his internet browsing still works?
Question II: what does this village idiot do after the fact that his web browsers (all of them) cannot connect to websites? Is there a command like "debconf-reconfigure fix-my-internet-connectivity"?
I really don't want to reinstall AGAIN.....Any advice?
