I have a 2000/xp dual boot machine in my home network. All of the rest of the machines can interact with the Linux SAMBA server. The Linux box can see the 2k/xp machine but cannot see the shares. The 2k/xp machine can see and browse the files on the Linux (SAMBA) box from both platforms. The user names and passwords are the same on both OSes in the 2k/xp machine.
Thx for all the help. I followed everyone's advice and all is well. Gabe, thanks for the tip on the last command. When I saw I couldn't connect, I looked at what it was doing and realized that I also had two virtual OS network connections that were unresolvable since one was on a different subnet. I diabled them, and everything worked!!!
