Replacing android on phone

Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy 5 , with Android. I was wondering if there is any documented way to install a full fledged arm distro of linux on it. I'm not worried about drivers and such. I just want to replace Android with Linux. As far as I have googled it, the only how-to's are about how to install linux side by side with android, or runn Xorg in a vnc.

So , can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

In theory it should be possible, but I have not heard of anyone actually doing it.
