For smart devices, how is the restore factory settings actually executed?

For linux kernel based devices, is it merely restoring the ramdisk image and kernel image?

Regards,

either that or the 'factory default' settings are hard coded somewhere in the program and are simply re-written to the nvram on the device in place of the custom settings

You can restore to factory default from PC by just formatting the linux mobile or you can do this from settings option in your mobile.

Restore factory settings for blackberry phones: Soft Reset-Just press ALT+Right SHIFT (CAP)+DELETE. Hard Reset
It’s so simple, just release the battery for 30 seconds and tide again. The BlackBerry will boot from the beginning.

cilascuthbert,

As you can see, I have edited your last post to remove the commercial link. That's advertising, & under LQ Rules it is considered spam -- even in a sig. block.

Now please go edit it out of your profile.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
