How can I restore my linux to factory settings on my Acer on with no disk?

Hope someone can help, i bought a used Acer Aspire one with Linux on it and it works great. I want to restore it to factory settings but I do not have a restore disk. (not to mention that the unit doesn't have a CD drive anyways.)

I have read on other sites that Alt-F10 works but I think that is only for WIN because I can not get that to work. Is there an equivalent function with Linux. THanks in advance

From within the linux install, try doing fdisk -l as root to see the hard disk. Generally, the restore to factory default type setting on a computer is actually a small Norton Ghost type system image that just gets expanded onto the original partition. So if you list the partitions and only find a single partition on the machine, then there is no "restore" function available because there's no 2nd or 3rd partition storing the original image.

If you do have multiple partitions, then you may just need to search around a bit more for the proper key combo at boot time.
