xfce and gnome-screensaver ?
I installed mint 14 xfce x64. I know it uses gnome-screensaver but there is nothing in settings or any of the menus to configure this. I see no answer anywhere as to how to configure the gnome-screensaver under xfce mint14. Everyone just says it's in settings or whatever but its not they must be using mate and assume it's on xfce but it's not. I know the gnome-screensaver daemon is running but where is the config tool to select a screensaver or time till it starts ect ... how do I get this functionality without resorting to xscreensaver.

I saw that thread befor but it's a different issue in the sense ppl are saying how to control the lock feature. In the thread someone say's you change the image for screensaver via >settings>screensaver but the screensaver option is not under settings on a fresh xfce install. At least not mine. So my question is where on a new install do I select my image ect... since screensaver is not under settings like the person said. Is it an individual problem I'm having or does no one have screensaver under settings in mint14 xfce.
I see you seem to be saying it's not there for everyone but then why use gnome stuff for xfce in the first place and not just have xscreensaver on the xfce version. It seems silly to not have a screensaver per se' on a fresh install.

I have not seen one bit about the gnome-screensaver in XFCE on Linux Mint, to be honest. As you say - settings --> screensaver does NOT exist on XFCE on my install either. I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with your install or mine.
That option you mention would be present on Cinnamon though (as I remember).
