This OP is quite aware of the TimeShift snapshot system.

And the system I am using (Lenovo Thinkpad T460s) actually is a secondary system I use to get familiar with Linux. I have a main desktop production system (Ryzen 7 with 32 GB) that I also installed Linux Mint on. And another Lenovo laptop that is now still on Windows 10 for production. Next to that I have a Dell R720 dual Intel Xeon system running Ubuntu server and some VM's running under KVM I am also using for testing purposes. And for my data I have a QNAP NAS that has a daily backup to another QNAP NAS.

That's why I really want to know where the problem is because normally I know where I did something wrong and where the problem could be but this time I am completely in the dark.

Thanks. As you may notice, inxi -r lists all your software sources so there was no need to also provide the contents of the individual software sources files.

Anyway the sources look good, although in saying that I am unfamiliar with mono-project and resilio.

Despite that, apt is still looking for the armhf architecture.

So, please paste the output from the following commands:

Code:
dpkg --print-architecture

dpkg --print-foreign-architectures

I have to go out now, so if the second of the commands above shows that armhf is a foreign (secondary) architecture, you should remove it with:

Code:
dpkg --remove-architecture armhf
Then you should disable the mono-project software source for the moment (just to keep things simple) and run apt update again.

Thanks!

dpkg --print-architecture returns:

Code:
herman@herman-ThinkPad-T460s ~ $ dpkg --print-architecture
amd64

dpkg --print-foreign-architectures returns:

Code:
herman@herman-ThinkPad-T460s ~ $ dpkg --print-foreign-architectures
i386
armhf
Hurray! Finally I see a reference "armhf" that refers to the ARM codebase. So now I read up on the dpkg and now have some understanding of dpkg and the architecture system.

So now I did the following:

Code:
herman@herman-ThinkPad-T460s ~ $ sudo dpkg --remove-architecture armhf
... and this returned no error. That gives some hope!

So I proceeded with sudo apt update and it actually works again! Only the GPG public key is missing however that may be due to some problem seeking I did before trying to get to the problem. Now I did a sudo apt upgrade and it is upgrading beautifully right now doing 146 package upgrades!

Thanks for your help, I think this might just have done the trick! I think I might have done something wrong when installing the Mono framework. You really made my day helping me.

Excellent news, Hermani.

My only thought about how it came about could be that you were following instructions on the web that were targetted at an arm system and those added in the additional architecture. Who knows? The important thing is that you've resolved the problem as well as learning something new - a double positive. A pity though that it deprived you of the learning experience of another fresh install...

Let us know if you don't resolve the GPG key issue.
