Mint Cinnamon gives Black Screen (with "-") when trying to boot

Hello,

I've been looking through multiple suggestions on how to fix my Black Screen, but they do not work.

The problem is that I am running Mint Cinnamon on VirtualBox, and today I decided to update the drivers because my Cinnamon kept crashing after logging in, now the result is that I get a Black Screen whenever I try to open the Virtual Mint Cinnamon, I don't even get to the login page first.

I do not remember which drivers it installed but I have tried the NVidia suggestions and still the problem persists.

What extra info could I give to solve the Black Screen problem?

PS- I need all the software etc. already installed, so the only option is to get the Black Screen away, and not to start a new VirtualBox.

Not sure if this is helpful but anything concerning Nvidia is irrelevant. Virtualbox does not use real hardware but uses virtual hardware to emulate real hardware. I would back out all changes you made concerning Nvidia.

Also, there are no "drivers" to update because there is no hardware, only emulated hardware. Not sure if this is what caused the problem in the first place. Did you make a snapshot of the VM while it was working, and prior to any changes?
