Hey all.

I have upgraded from 17.1 to 17.2 Cinnamon including kernel upgrading etc.

Now I sometimes have black screen instead of desktop after starting. During startup the Mint logo shows allright, but the desktop turns frequently black (NOT all times). It never did that before.
And the desktop shows 100% when I turn into "software rendering mode".

Hardware: Lenovo Thinkpad T61.
It is not because it is new and unknown hardware (GPU).

Should I make a clean 17.2 install? Or turn back to 17 or 17.1? Or sometime else?

In your place I would reinstall the system from scratch, but first it would have saved all important files from your home directory and then took advantage of the program Aptik.
