linux as master boot

Is it true that if Linux is not Master Boot - in a dual boot situation - that Windows may not even recognize Linux?

Linux' bootloader can chainload Windows' bootloader, but not the reverse, so true.

Since you've been asking about dual-booting for years now, this is an odd question. Especially given the amount of information you can find with a brief search:

The typical fashion is install Windows first, then install Linux. As you have before.

There is a convoluted process by which you can use a Legacy install of windows and Linux to boot both from the BCD windows bootloader. The Linux system would need to be installed already. Much simpler to use Grub. Also, there is third party software from Neosmart called EasyBCD which could boot Linux from windows. Don't know that either will work on an EFI machine.
