Wireless on HP DV4000

I would use the onboard wireless but the only way to turn on the chipset is thru the running of HP,s version of Windows XP.

Anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks

Frank

Search this site and read some of the post. Looks like it uses intel chipset. Run the command ' /sbin/lspci -v ' and post info on the nic portion. As far as the on/off I believe the wifi nic is on. The button mostly controls the idiot light to tell you it is on. The post I seen mention the switch does not work. Use the search tool and check out those post. Also google showed some related post as well.
