Why Fedora Core-3 is not able to detect the sound card on my DELL-Inspiron b130 lapto

Hi everybody,

I have a Dell laptop--model name:Inspiron B130...
I use a daul-boot in it using Windows and Linux.. But unfortunately Fedora Core-3 that I have installed on my laptop is not able to detect the sound card in my laptop... When i enter the command "lpsci -d | grep 'Audio' following was the output:

"00:1b.0 Class 0403: Intel Corp.
82801FB/FBM/Fr/FRW (ICH6 family)
High Definition Audio Controller"

I dont know wat to do next.....Can anybody plz suggest a remedy!!!

Update to a supported version of Fedora Core like version 5 or 6 then bring that version current by using "yum update". No reason to run an unsupported version of any OS you know, since Fedora Core 5/6 has many changes since FC3 then wipe and load.

You need to get the latest ALSA drivers from www.alsa-project.org

I have FC6 and it does not work properly with my Intel HDAC I had to get 1.0.14rc1
