udf problem - RH7.2 on Toshiba 155CDS

Hey, I am trying to mount a cd-rw under RH7.2 on my Toshiba 1555CDS. The module udf.o shows up when I do lsmod. However, when I execute: mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom -t udf, the cd is apparently mounted but I get an error - "no medium found". The cd was burned on a Windows XP box and shows as a CDUDFRW. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I don't know if you can write udf to a cdrw. Try this.

mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
or
mount -t auto /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

If it is udf then I would add udf to /etc/filesystems. If that doesn't do it I would recommend building a new kernel or at least an updated kernel.

Good luck

I reloaded RH7.2 for other reasons, now when I attempt to mount a CDUDFRW CD I get the error: "/dev/cdrom: not a block device". I'd like to know why the error changed, also I'd like to know if anyone has successfully read a CDUDFRW filesystem with Red Hat.

Thanks.
