Thinkpad keyboard problem

Hi, I just installed Mandrake 10.1 CE on my IBM Thinkpad 1300 1171. My problem is that the OS acts like the function key is always begin held down, which is horrible because about a 3rd of the keyboard doubles as a numeric pad (to access the numeric pad functions you usualy hold down the funcion key, but the situation is reversed in my case, so i have to hold down the function key just to type.). The keyboard worked fine during the installation process, the problem only arose after installaion was finished and I had booted up. Any ideas?

Ok, I tried booting the "failsafe" option from the LILO menu, and the keyboard works fine in there. So is there some sort of file (or files) where the keyboard settings are stored that i could copy or something?

Neeeeeevermind, solved the problem. Turns out I just had to turn off Numlock (D'oh!) oh well, figures it'd be something simple.
