Question Synaptics TouchPad driver problem in Fedora 2

Hi all

I am facing some problems with Fedora 2 synaptics touchpad driver.

Everytime after working in Fedora when I log in to Windows XP, the touchpad stops working.

Strangly this behaviour lasts only for that day, when the date changes (when I start the laptop next day), the mouse driver again works fine in Windows XP.

Please help me to resolve this problem. I am not able to understand why the driver in Fedora is affacting the Windows Driver ??

Thanks you all in advance !

Hi m8,

I doubt that the linux driver would affect windows. I had a similar issue with mine, but i never had my fedora partition at that stage, i just installed the latest synaptics packages and it sorted it out.

Question Re: Synaptic Driver Problem on Fedora

I know logically fedora driver should not affact windows Drivers. But then why everytime it stops working in XP after I worked in Fedora and gets corrected automatically on the next day?

More interestingly the touchpad stopped working after I installed new drivers from HP site (I use Compaq X1000 series laptop)

yeah i know... it was kinda flakey for me also, but i think i just uninstalled the drivers, installed the whole synaptics suite, booted, and it was fine.. maybe there is something else that is causing this to occur...

Ok.....just tell me which driver suite you are talking about? Linux or WindowsXP ?

Also which drivers were you using before? I haven't installed any special synaptics stuff right now. It is using windows XP default drivers only. So what did you uninstall first?

Also could you write the email link from where you got the drivers for synaptics?

Thanks
