Shutdown and reboot not work

I instaled Ubuntu 15.10. in a ideapad 100.

I encounter a problem whenever I shutdown or restart; I get past the shutdown text screen and the screen goes black, my computer doesn't power off. I have to hold down the power button in order to complety shut down.

I prove with:

reboot=b
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash acpi=force”
INIT_HALT=poweroff

but not work

I do not want to restart by console.

any ideas?

After shutdown can you pls press CTRL-ALT-F1 - this should transfer control to the console and you should see what the system is trying to do. If you can report this back then someone may be able to diagnose your problem.

Cheers

To force a shutdown run this command in the terminal.

Code:
sudo shutdown -h now
I not sure if Plymouth is responsible for the black screen or not but it's possible.
Plymouth is the application which provides the graphical "splash" screen when booting and shutting down an Ubuntu system.

Is your Ideapad a Lenovo? Laptop or tablet?
You might want to include the specifications of your machine and the exact make and model so we can help you.

what is this?
where did you get it from?
where did you put it?
did you run "sudo update-grub" afterwards?

That's the Grub file that OP edited with that argument.
I suspect OP didn't update grub:-

acer2!:

If sudo shutdown -h now doesn't work for you try editing the Grub File again and use this.
-::-It works for most laptops.-::-

Code:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash no apic
If that doesn't do it than the only other thing I've learned to try is:
Code:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash no apic irqpoll

that too, probably.

but pesky acpi issues, could have a dozen more reasons.

with the level of detail and frequency op provides, i doubt s/he will find a solution anytime soon.

Most likely it's the /boot/grub/grub.cfg-
