Resolution problem with Acer 1691 WLMI
I can't use my Mandriva 2006 with bigger resolution than 800x600 in KDE.
During installation I selected FlatPanel 1280x800 as my monitor which should be the right choice. Then I selected 1024x768 resolution which worked fine when I tested it. Then when the I booted my laptop, I tried to login in in the login screen but the screen went messed up and the system went back to the login screen. The login screen and iceWM works just fine with 1280x768 resolution but KDE goes nuts...
I have tried all the resolution from 800x600 to 1280x800 but and 800x600 is the best resolution that can be used.
I have had mandriva 2005 and ubuntu 5.10 on this laptop and they worked fine with 1280x800 resolution
What could cause this problem and how could I fix it? Could it be something with the graphic card's driver or xorg file?
