Problems with touch pad of Samsung NC10 Plus under Fedora 14

Merry Christmas!

Finally I got a Samsung NC10 Plus which seems to be very similar to the N150. Unfortunately scrolling with the touchpad doesn't work as expected under Gnome with Fedora 14.

First of all some output from the log files.

dmesg:

Code:

elantech: Synaptics capabilities query result 0x09, 0x14, 0x0b.

After enabling some features via System -> Preferences -> Mouse -> Touchpad scrolling causes some problems for me. Edge scrolling works horizontal only no matter if "Edge scrolling" is enabled. "Two-finger scrolling" is very unpredictable. E. g. trying to scroll within Firefox the page jumps back and forth or scrolls without touching the pad. The same occurs with the Terminal application.

A quick test with Ubuntu Netbook Remix show the same behavior. Two finger scrolling works smooth with Windows 7. So it seems more a software than a hardware problem.

A played around with xinput but had no success so far. Has anyone any idea how to use edge scrolling or two finger scrolling properly?

IDK how much the ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad works like a Synaptics touchpad but you might find this LQ thread helpful. It is about Slackware systems but may be useful for Fedora, too.
