I would like to install on a 3GB partition the linux from debian boot cdrom.
But while installing, and after the cdrom inspection the program failed and I have to link a controller to my cdrom like /dev/xxxx, I 've trying to link it with every possible option without any result.
Does anyone knows how to solve this problem? thanks
The Last time I installed Debian was on an old IBM pentium I server. I found it easier to install over ftp, which only requires a small file download to begin. I would suggest if you don't have a high speed connection available to that PC, that you try downloading thge extra driver disks available from Debian's mirrors. Then when it asks you to choose a driver for use, you navigate to a different disk. I believe this feature is available under expert mode (but I could be mistaken)
