Debian Sarge on ThinkPad T43 w/2HDD
I have a ThinkPad T43 and I want to install Debian - Network install on a 2nd HD in the Ultrabay Slim bay.
I do not want ot install onto the primary HD.
I have downloaded the iso for the network install and have tried the following.
Place the contents on the iso onto the 2nd HD and booting - Blank Screen, Nothing Happens.
Placing the contents on a usb key and booting - Same result.
Partitioning the key with a linux native bootable partition, same result.
I tried booting from the CD then swapping the cd / HD in the UltraBay Bay, System froze.
Is there anything special I need to do to boot the install from the USB key or the 2nd HD?
Should I have a bootloader on the drive and have it boot from the install folder on the drive? If I do that will the install be off of the drive and in memory so that I can repartition the drive?
Or do I need to find an external USB cd-rom drive?
Any help would be much appreciated.
