No boot for Mandrake 9.1-9.2 on Asus L8400K

Hello everyone,
I am a newby with Linux , and wanted to test it on my laptop, Asus l8400K one.
Well I installed at first Mandrake 9.1 and got a problem at startup : A BLACK SCREEN WITH "LI_" on the top.... and couldn't do a thing.. just rebooting a having the same problem..

Then choose to install the Mandrake 8.0, my brother burned me years ago, and then it worked perfectly...

So, I thought Mandrake 9.1 had a bug, and downloaded the 9.2 RC2 version, installed it... same problem as the 9.1 version..

Do anybody knows why ??

I found it

Well, after thinking deeply,
I tryied to update with the same CD-Rom I installed Madrake.

A listing of content appears and you can choose to configure each one, just like at the install, and then choosed to switch on Text mode booting and change to move the booting partition, from hda1 to hda....

well, I just don't really know which change make my Linux booting, but it works..

Hope my problem can help somebody..

bye
