Linux on Compaq Armada 4120
I got this old laptop, a Compaq Armada 4120. I want Linux on it, and I have Red Hat 8 on cd so I thought it should be possible.
When it has checked all of the memory, pressing F10 did get me in some sort of setup-tool, but I could not set it up to boot from CD-ROM. So, I got a Red Hat 8 bootfloppy, but somehow that didn't work. Can't remember what it said, doesn't matter anymore, because after finding out it didn't work, I changed a setting in (what I expect to be) the BIOS.
Before it was set to boot 'Other Operating systems', and I set it to 'DOS or DOS and Windows.'
But now it doesn't do anything anymore.. It says It has no OS to boot, but Windows 95 (as originally installed) is still there. And I can't go back in BIOS, because I can only get in that when it had found an OS.
I tried to boot with a W95 bootfloppy, to copy RH8 files to harddisk and then install those, but the CD-ROM is not found.
Please help, cuz now I have this very useless laptop :S
