Is there a Distro that will recognize wireless?

Hi Everone,

I have an old PIII 500mhz Toshiba laptop that I would like to run a live cd distro on, but I need wireless. I have tried a number of live distros and all of them require NDISwrapper as a driver but I have never been able to get any of them working for this Marvell PCMIA card. The windows driver is MRV8335.sys, but none of the live distros will load it (most recently tried PCLinuxOS.) My question is: Does anyone know of a live cd distro which will recognize a PCMIA wireless card automatically? This card works fine in Windows 2000.

Thanks for any help.
Bob

If there isn't a driver out there, it isn't going to be automatically recognized by any distro. It looks like there is no native Linux driver for the Marvell 88w8335, so ndiswrapper will be the only way you will be able to get it to work.

There are plenty of cards out there that will be supported out of the box, check the HCL on this site for more information.
