Won't recognize wireless card

Okay so I'm totally new to this. I'm using Zenwalk Linux.

I have no idea what I'm doing... the Linux partition will not connect to my wireless network. The wireless card I'm using is a Belkin 802.11g.

I was unable to find drivers for it (not that I would know how to install them), but didn't have any luck. Then I came across a program called Ndiswrapper. I'm supposing this should work with my card, but I have no clue as to how to install it and cannot find any simple instructions (for beginners).

Also, if none of you can really explain how to do this easily, where could I find a wireless card that would just automatically work on Linux AND Windows?

Thanks for ANY help.

1st you have to extract the Windows Driver files. So that you have all those *.inf files and stuff. copy them to linux.
2nd download the ndiswrapper latest module
3rd get the kernel sources
4th install the ndiswrapper like this:
- tar zxvf ndiswrapper-<version>.tar.gz
- cd ndiswrapper-<version>
- make install
- ndiswrapper -i /tmp/xpdriverfilesDIR (your dir where you extracted the xp inf files)
- modprobe ndiswrapper
- then you can check with less /var/log/messages if it was correctly installed
- ndiswrapper -l (shows the installed drivers or the "wrapped..." ones)
- ndiswrapper -m (this writes it to modprobe.conf)
After this steps you will be able to setup the card within your gui network config tool or using iwconfig.

oh cards that work without a big pain is for my opinion IntelPro Wireless 2100 & 2200 MiniPci. But I know that there will be million of post after this one that will say ... No better use this or this or....
