Question Installing Verizon DSL on Fedora Core 2

[SIZE=large]Ok! So I have my Verizon modem and wireless router, and I've set it up on my Mac computer. Now...how do I configure my wireless computer (laptop) to talk to the router? I tried using the Network tool to set up a wireless connection with no success. The version of the kernel I'm using is 3.2.2-4 and the release is 2.6.5-1.358. The Linux computer is an i686.

Additionally, I've been trying to figure out how to set up my Palm (Tungsten T3) on this computer, as well. I tried using the Handheld set up tool, but I was unsuccessful in that venture, too.

Any help (i.e. - step-by-step instructions or detalied tutorials) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As long as the computer recognizes your wireless network card, there's no difference between wireless and wired, if your router uses default settings (eg. default SSID, no WEP etc.).
You did not give enough details to determine what is wrong.
Try "ifconfig -a" as root and see if your network card shows up.

To add to draxen's post, once you know the name of your wireless card (wlan0, eth0, etc.), as root you can issue the following commands to get an IP address from the router (assuming your router is set up as a DHCP server) - I'll use 'eth0' in this example.

# iwconfig eth0 essid any <--- if your router has a different SSID, put it here
# dhcpcd eth0
