Post Installing Ubuntu 8.10 on MacBook

I have a Intel MacBook 2.4GHz 2GB RAM 160 GB HDD

Installing Ubuntu using Parallels is making my Mac slow. So, I have decided to install it without Parallels. How do I do it?

P.S: I must be able to boot both Mac OS X and Ubuntu. Guys, I'm a Newbie to this so please make it easy.
