At the boot menu where it shows menu "start linux mint" press tab and add nomodeset to the end of the line. Also have you tried the "Start in compatibility mode"

Yeah ok thanks I did figure out how to add that

Also someone suggested I try installing from a USB stick,

so I tried both and it still hangs.

this time its hanging at "starting System0 management login service

I have tried compatibilty mode earlier, but not since your nomodeset suggestion or the USB method

I will try it

thanks again for helping

Hi Brian...

Looks like you got MX-15 working.

Were you able to install it to the hard drive?

Regards...

yes I got it installed!!

Trying to figure out how to connect it to my Comcast wireless modem. Kind of a head scratcher. In Mint it was a piece of cake.

I dont know what I am missing, I am in the MX Broadcom manager right now

Is there awn automatic way to detect my wireless router?

If the install went well, you should see the network icon on the taskbar. If there's none listed the WiFi driver is not working.

The MX guys will help you out so you should keep posting there. Since you installed MX, post on the MX specific forum:

http://forum.mepiscommunity.org/index.php

The same folks are generally on the antiX forum as well but the MX forum has expertise with MX...

Hi Brian...

Just to confirm what we're working with, would you open a terminal and post the entire results of...

Code:
lspci -nnk | grep -i net -A2
You can copy and paste the code above into the terminal. You can do the same when posting the results. Thanks!

EDIT: I also found this manual for MX-15. It might be of help.

Regards...
