I can access to the BIOS, no problem for that.
When I plug my USB stick, with my Ubuntu in it (created thanks to unetbootin) the system telling me that he "can't detect any O.S please reboot"
I've seen that before, it was the deactivated legacy boot fault.
you might need first disable secure boot then set the boot option to legacy. The legacy option does not become available until secure boot it disabled first. If you still run into challenges then I suggest maybe flashing the BIOS firmware then check the same options again.
I will try on my PC tonight, i'm at work right now. But to be honnest I'm pretty sure the Key is bootable, I had Ubuntu installed on my work PC with the same key.
I don't know why I can't access to the secure boot menu and I'm sure the problem come from that.
I'll keep you updated.
No way such old kit will have UEFI/secure boot issues. I'd be worried it's not even 64-bit. Get into whatever Win7 has that displays system specifications and post it here.
Some machines don't seem to like certain flash drives when it comes to booting. Doesn't happen often but I am sure I came across this scenario at least once.
You mentioned you used the same USB on a work machine and it worked fine so there is no issue with the USB hardware, so all signs seems to point to the laptop.
What program did you use to write the USB? Some USB writing programs give you an option to either write with MBR or GTP, this could be another option to consider. I personally would flash the BIOS first then try again. If the issue persists then possibly try writing the USB with another program. Some programs tend to be a little sticky then others.
Gad, you got it right in the face.
I used"unetbootin" in the first place. I just tried "Rufus" and it worked.
Thanks a lot everyone, you are good people !!
