I am not new to Linux; I basically grew up learning it. I am in the process of migrating my laptop from Vista to Slackware12.2 by using a test partition. Everything installed correctly and I am able to use Slackware 12.2 just fine.

My problem is I cannot connect to any Wi-Fi hotspots around town. Is my problem a missing driver, or the fact that I use public access hotspots?

Update: I tried a LiveCD version of Knoppix, and it found and connected to a network wirelessly. I am still unsure of why Slackware is unable to do the same thing.

If you keep answering your own posts they'll not show up on the "Zero Replies" list, which many seasoned LQ members look at. So you are not helping yourself at all.

Also, we cannot help if you have "a missing driver", when you don't tell us what hardware the "missing driver" is for.

"My laptop" simply isn't enough information. Please think about this for at least ten minutes before reposting.
