Fedora 8 no sound -82801G mobile chipset

82801G (ICH7 Family) Sound ASUS W7 notebook
Unable to get sound working
Works fine in Ubuntu 7.10
by editing
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
with options snd-hda-intel model=3stack
Fedora 8 is different -there is no alsa-base.
What to do?

Put that in /etc/modprobe.conf instead.

Sound Working -ASUS W7J!

Thanks. Liking Fedora!

As suggested
sudo gedit /etc/modprob.conf
use:
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack
(cleaned out similar options statements)
Works great!

For others sound help in future:
Fedora 8
ASUS W7J notebook
/sbin/lspci
82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller
alsa-lib-1.0.15-1.fc8 (Driver Version 1.0.15)
