Fedora 4 @ Compaq M2000 Network and audio Undetected
Hi there,
Got me a compaq presario M2215AP a month ago, looking for a Redmond replacement tried to install FC 4 without luck. Tried later Suse9.3 and got me stuck exactly with the same issues as with FC4.
I guess perhaps it's a RedHat derivatives problem (tried debian's Live Knoppix and no problems at all).
This laptop comes with on-board realtek network adapter. During installation HW detection apparently detected it well. Later on, when I tried to bring eth0 up (using a static IP address) it shows a strange error msg (SIOCSIFLAGS invalid parameter).
The audio card is buggy too, checking Hardware Profiles I found it detects TWO audio adapters trying to use the same IRQ (??)
My USB mouse, a pretty standard piece of equipment, doesn't work at all, maybe my BIOS or the undetected intel chipset are causing the problem???, I'm puzzled now.
If I could have the network going that would be alot for me. Any help would be appreciatted.
thanx
G.
