Angry Fail to install RH 7.2 because of monitor

I'm new to linux. When i install RH 7.2 it seem to be OK until the i push the TEST button almost at the end of installation.

I am installing RH 7.2 on Desknote ECS A901 with SIS630 Chip set. I can find what type of monitor ( LCD ) and in what range of freq that monitor works.

I pick Generic Laptop Screen with 1024x768 resolution and 16 bit color depth then i push TEST button. The LCD screen's color become scrambled and i can do nothing.

do i have to install RH 7.2 from beginning. Anybody can tell me what mistake was i made ? i've been installing RH 7.2 for approx. 20 times. Shame on me ...

I have also had a few woes over embedded SiS chipsets....

I did a Google on "sis 630 linux". Here is what I found.

http://www.winischhofer.net/linuxsis630.shtml

It basically says that the support for the SiS 630 chipset is lacking. That URL offers up a software fix that says it is intended for fairly advanced linux users, as it is not easy to configure.

The alternative is to prehaps select the generic "vesa" driver for you video. This will give you slower video, but *should* work.

Hope that helps.
