Every Linux Distribution freezes forever on my laptop
Hello everyone, I have a problem. When I install one of many Linux distributions on my laptop, after some time or after playing some media, it freezes forever(and I always need to reboot my laptop).
Can you help me please?
Here is the info from neofetch command(I'm not a Linux guru):
OS: Slackware 15.0 x86_64 x86_64
Host: HP 80C5
Kernel: 5.15.19
Uptime: 3 mins
Packages: 1560(pkgtool)
Shell: bash 5.1.16
Resolution: 1366x768
DE: Plasma 5.23.5
WM: Kwin
Terminal: konsole
CPU: Intel Pentium N3700 (4) @ 2.400GHz
GPU: Intel Atom/Celeron/Pentium Processor x5-E8000/J3xxx/N3xxx
Memory: 831MiB / 7803MiB
What you could try: reboot Slackware installation DVD and run memtest, watch for memory errors but also the CPU Temp (personally I consider anything above 40 degrees Celsius to be overheating).
Other ideas: monitor the temperatures for other components, video card overheating, hard disk overheating etc.
Yet another idea: check if this freezing happens in Windows too. It is very unlikely your problem is a result of a Linux kernel bug but you can only test this if you run non-Linux OS.
