"Connection to BlueZ failed" Can't use bluetooth manager??
I'm using an inspiron 1545 and am unable to pair my Earforce px5 headset with my laptop because the manager won't run. My bluetooth is internal and i can't see what the problem is, but i am very new to linux (running ubuntu 10.10) so i dont know where to start. The error message is "Connection to BlueZ failed: BlueZ daemon is not running, blueman-manager cannot continue." Any help with very simple explinations is much appreciated, I won't be able to follow any linux lingo, so please be as clear as possible. Thanks : /

Reason: check & note user status
none of those commands did anything, i dont really understand how to use the terminal at all so it's hard for me to figure out what i should put in where you say "bluetooth" or whatever.
-- I assume you are running Gnome, please verify.
I run KDE, so I don't know how to open a console inside Gnome, do you?
The alternative is to use an old fashioned tty, but they are ugly & primitive compared to an X Window terminal.
so I don't know how to open a console inside Gnome
The command is gnome-terminal.
Pressing Alt F2 should give him a window in which he can type gnome-terminal and press enter.

When you execute those commands on your terminal, you are expected to "copy" the whole output and "paste" it here (in code tags: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...do=bbcode#code) for others to see.
Simply saying "didn't do anything" is NOT helpful.
