Compaq Presario-700 ???
I have a Compaq Presario-700 that will not power up.
Plugging in charger in gives battery light on laptop, but power light does not come on after pushing down on power switch.
Could this be because battery is bad and not taking charge ?

Most laptops should be able to work without batteries ...through the power line. Check that first
